After winning 3rd runner-up in the 2011 Ms. Universe pageant, Filipinos are now waiting for Shamcey Supsup’s return to the country. In view of this, Makati Mayor Jejomar Erwin Binay plans to honor the beauty queen’s return with a ticker-tape parade.
Furthermore, Mayor Jejomar Binay, in his press statement, said, “We are truly proud that Shamcey was a product of a Makati public school. Apparently, the city has not only produced outstanding alumni with scholastic achievements, but has also helped develop a world-class beauty queen,”
Supsup is also sheduled to visit Makati High School upon her return, where she graduated high school as a salutatorian.
Meanwhile, the local government of GenSan is also planning to give Supsup a hero’s welcome when she returns to her hometown.
“Definitely, there will be a hero’s welcome for Shamcey when she returns home,” Mayor Darlene Antonino-Custodio said.
Shamcey Supsup was born in Iligan City but was raised in GenSan. Her family moved to General Santos City when she was only 3 years old. Her father, Timoteo Supsup, took care of her while her mother was working abroad as an engineer.
Everyone is excited for the beauty queen’s return and to congratulate for her victory. She may not have won the crown, but she’s definitely a winner in the hearts of her fellow Filipinos who are proud of her achievement.
