Jiro Manio, multi-awarded actor and former child star

It has been a while since we last saw the former child star, Jiro Manio appeared in movies and television. Last March 2011, the multi-awarded young actor voluntarily turned himself in for a drug rehabilitation in Antipolo.  This was due to a series of mishaps in his career and also his manifestation of unprofessional behavior due to drug addiction as what reports said.

Jiro Manio, 19, was one of the ABS-CBN’s Star Magic talent. Unfortunately, the said network fired Jiro for his unprofessional conduct.

After the termination incident in his home network, the young actor transferred to GMA 7 where he was starred as one of the casts in a T.V. show, Pilyang Kerubin with Angelika dela Cruz.

According to recent reports about the actor, it was said that Jiro has only six more months to wait before he gets out of the drug rehabilitation facility.

The director, Maryo J. delos Reyes, who is also said to be Jiro’s mentor, believes that the talented actor still has a bright future in show business. Furthermore, the director believes that Jiro will make his come back in 2012, and he wants to let the public know that they will expect a new Jiro Manio when he returns to show business.

Jiro Manio, the multi-awarded talented actor won the FAMAS Award and Gawad Urian Award in 2004 for his role in the movie “Magnifico.”  In 2002, he was also nominated in Gawad Urian Award as Best Supporting Actor.
