Antoinette Taus hails her Filipino fans as she and her group called Kinfolk 9 advance to top 14 of the US TV singing contest The Sing-Off as aired on September 19 episode on US television.

Kinfolk 9 is a nine-member vocal group founded by Jenilee Reyes, an L.A. based singer and a Filipino-American. Jenilee is also said to be Antoinette’s god sister.

The said group will be competing against other equally talented a capella groups namely: Afro-Blue, The Cat’s Pajamas, The Collective, Dartmouth Aires, Delilah, The Deltones, Sonos, Soul’d out, North Show, Fannin Family, Messiah’s Men, Vocal Point, Pentatonix, Yellowjackets, and the Urban Method.

All in all, 16 groups singing a capella will rock the stage to get closer to stardom. The winner of this contest will receive a cash prize of $100, 000 and a recording contract with Sony Music.

The Sing Off is an a capella singing contest that features talented a capella groups. The show is hosted by Nick Lachey, a former member of the popular boy band 98 degrees. The Sing Off 3rd season judges are Shawn Stockman, Ben Folds, and Sara Bareilles. The show airs on NBC, and can be seen in the Philippines via cable.

The former Filipino star, Antoinette Taus was popular among teens during her flourishing showbiz career in the 90’s. Despite her popularity here in the Philippines, she decided to migrate to US along with her brother, Tom Taus, the former child star who is now gaining popularity in Los Angeles as DJ Tom.
