Gerald Anderson, one of today’s most promising actors and a certified hunk, was a former housemate of the hit reality show Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition. He was one of the PBB: Teen Edition’s Big 4 along with Kim Chiu.
He’s the son of an American instructor in the Philippine Navy who travels back and forth to the US and Philippines and a mother who is a native of General Santos City. His parents eventually got separated.
He was known as Ang Amboy Hottie ng GenSan and dance heartthrob when he was in PBB: Teen Edition. It was Joross Gamboa who introduced Gerald to manger Jun Reyes, and that was the start of his journey in showbiz.
Gerald was born in Subic Bay, Zambales. At age 3, his family moved to the United States and stayed in San Antonio, Texas. When he turned 6, his family again moved to other location, somewhere in Springfield, Missouri. At age 14, Gerald and his family decided to come back to the Philippines. They transferred to General Santos, the hometown of Gerald’s mother.
After the PBB: Teen Edition, he continued to rise to fame as he became ABS-CBN’s exclusive talent under Star Magic. At the start of his showbiz career, he and Kim Chiu were introduced as a love team and they were instantly adored by fans. Their love team was even named as Kimerald.
Now, Gerald Anderson is back on television in a very challenging role. He plays the role of Budoy who is suffering from delay in mental development. The prime time drama series Budoy is ABS-CBN’s first advocacy serye which airs October 10, 2011.
