Valerie Concepcion’s Tweet Stirred Negative Reactions on PNoy

Valerie Concepcion

Valerie Concepcion apologized to netizens after her tweets stating that PNoy was partying with the PSG resulted to many negative reactions.

Valerie was an invited guest at the Presidential Security Group (PSG) Christmas party where she was asked to perform for the PSG along with Jessa Zaragosa whom she mentioned in her tweets.

In one of her tweets, she said, “It was nice to see Pres. P-Noy laughing at my jokes & enjoying my performance.”

The controversial tweet which Valerie posted caused the Twitter followers to react on PNoy’s insensitivity despite the recent onslaught brought about by typhoon Sendong in CDO and Iligan City.

The actress was quick to respond upon learning that her tweet had stirred reactions and caused people to be furious on president Noynoy.

Meanwhile, Valerie already deleted the said tweet which she posted, and posted another tweet in response to the negative reactions made by people in her tweet. In her tweet, she said,

“I just want to clarify that I was invited to perform at Malacañang‘s Christmas Party for their employees with their husbands/wives and kids. Yes, the president attended the gathering. I do not see anything wrong with that since it’s his obligation and responsibility being the head of Malacañang to be present and show his support for his hardworking employees and their respective families. But I believe that it doesn’t mean that the president is not thinking of ways to help our kababayan(s) in Mindanao. It doesn’t mean that the president is disregarding the plight of our fellow Filipinos. Let’s not be too quick to judge.

“…But if I, in any way, offended you guys and sounded insensitive, I am very sorry. It wasn’t my intention to do either. I can’t imagine how difficult life is for the people affected in Mindanao and how difficult it is to be the president of the Philippines at this moment. Once again, I am very sorry for all those people I have offended. May God bless us all.”

All Souls Day: A Tribute to the Faithful Departed

While some are looking forward to celebrating Halloween, others are already busy cleaning up the cemeteries. For most catholic Filipinos, November is the month of remembering all the beloved faithful departed.

In the Philippines, a yearly special non-working holiday is especially dedicated in honor of the dead. Some even travel miles just to get home in time for All Souls Day. All Souls Day has somehow become a celebration, a special gathering, and a reunion of families, relatives, and friends in cemeteries where their dearly departed ones are buried. People offer prayers, bring flowers, and light candles as they are part of the whole tradition during this special occasion. Often, it turns out to be a festivity rather than a solemn celebration. People eat, laugh, and reminisce the old times.

Once a year, every November 1st or the 2nd, my family and I visit our close relatives in their graveyards. However, for the past 2 years, I haven’t stayed too long in the cemetery ever since my mother and two sisters left the country and are now permanently settled in the US. But I guess this year, after I take a short visit in my great grandmother‘s tomb, I’d probably be staying a bit longer in my father’s graveyard. It’s my first visit to his tomb for this year’s All Souls Day since he just died few months ago.

Unfortunately, when my father died last July due to a freak accident, my mother and two sisters were not able to personally witness my father’s burial ceremony since they can’t just simply pack their bags and go home to the Philippines. It’s also unfortunate that they won’t be able to visit him this coming All Souls Day, but I am here anyway to pay homage to his grave site.

KC Concepcion and Piolo Pascual

Rumors have been spreading from blind items to social networking sites that the couple KC Concepcion and Piolo Pascual have already parted ways. However, neither one of them has confirmed this rumors and both remained their lips sealed regarding the issue that they have already called it ‘quits’.

Although a couple of months ago, TV host-actress KC Concepcion said in an interview with ‘The Buzz that she and Piolo had a misunderstanding but she was hopeful that they would patch things up.

During the Star Magic Ball 2011, the couple seemed happy and okay when they arrived together. There were no signs of having some problems in terms of their relationship. In fact, the lovely couple displayed sweetness and affection all throughout the night in the Star Magic Ball held last September 3.

However, just recently, KC was spotted at the NAIA. Moments before her flight to Europe, ‘The Buzz’ interviewed the TV host and asked about why she’s leaving.

“Kailangan ko lang ng oras para sa sarili ko…kailangan ko lang ng ilang araw para huminga nang konti, kailangan ko lang itong time na ito para makapag-isip ako, para lang makalaro ang utak ko at para bumalik ako na buo pa rin ako,” said KC.

KC added that she wants to be with her childhood friends and visit some places that make her happy.

“Siyempre, comfort zone ko ang Europe. Tamang tama na nandoon din ‘yung mga childhood friends ko. Maganda din na makasama ko ang mga matagal ko nang kaibigan at makapunta sa lugar na makakapagpasaya sa akin,” explained KC.

Meanwhile, when the reporter asked KC, “Nagpaalam ka siyempre kay Papa P, Piolo Pascual?” the actress suddenly felt reluctant to answer and she just smiled. Hindi ko alam,” said KC.

KC Concepcion seemed uncertain on how to react and answer the reporter’s question.

“Si Papa P kayo pa ba?” the reporter asked KC.

KC just nodded and said, “Hindi ko po alam” while smiling as she walks far away from the reporter of ‘The Buzz’.

Andrea del Rosario shared her ordeals with Boy Abunda

Andrea del Rosario

Andrea del Rosario, who became known as a sexy actress and one of the members of Viva hotbabes, shared her ordeals with Boy Abunda in The Buzz while she was carrying her first child and her experiences after she gave birth.

It has been a while since the actress appeared on television. She left the Philippines and stayed in the United States for quite some time. It was during her stay in the US where she got pregnant and gave birth to her first born child.

However, when Boy Abunda asked about the father’s identity, Andrea kept her silence and told Boy that she prefers not to mention anything about the father’s identity out of respect. Andrea just told the TV host that she and her child’s father are okay and that he has been very good to her and to her daughter.

The former Viva hotbabe was almost in tears when she told Boy about her daughter’s condition even while she was still in her womb at the time of her pregnancy. According to Andrea, her daughter is suffering from a congenital condition called Jejunal Atresia, a rare genetic disorder, an absence of the fold of the stomach membrane that connects the small intestine to the back wall of the abdomen.

Boy Abunda asked Andrea if it was her plan to have a baby, the sexy actress immediately answered saying that she really wanted to have a baby and that her daughter was an answered prayer despite almost giving up on her condition. Andrea also told Boy that when her daughter was just few days old, she already had undergone a couple of surgeries.  She added that prayers kept her strong. She said that she would just cuddle her baby and pray.

Hopefully, Andrea will surpass all these trials and that her daughter will be her source of strength.

Cake or Pie?

I am quite sure that cakes would surely be the choice of every man’s palate. Cakes are the most frequently served desert during special occasions–birthdays, weddings, christening, graduation, valentine’s, thanksgiving, Christmas or just even during ordinary days.

Don’t you just love to take a bite on that soft and moist, delectable cake? I would definitely take a big bite. Pies also taste good, but I am not a big fan of it. Here in the Philippines, the most common pies that people often buy or bake are egg pies, pineapple pies, and “buko”  (coconut meat) pies.

In the U.S., I guess the most common home made pie is the apple pie. I haven’t tried apple pie yet, so I really do not have any idea how it tastes like. Perhaps, it tastes like apple…huh?! Just kidding! Of course, obviously it tastes like apple lest it wouldn’t be called an apple pie if it tastes like mango or pineapple.

Like pies, cakes also come in different variety. The most popular of all is the chocolate cake with a chocolate filling that makes one go woot with its sinful taste.
